Following numerous design studies, in the Spring of 2009, we introduced optimized wing spars for Supra PRO family, which increased wing stiffness while reducing weight.  New wing spars are baked in an autoclave in special molds from CF pre-preg. We use high strength carbon fiber IMS 65.

We manufacture two types of the wing spars for Supra Expert central wing section

 

Wing spars of Supra Expert Hard SC, Supra Expert Hard SC molded rudder и Supra Expert Glass have 13 mm wide flanges.

Wing spars of Supra Expert SC have 10.5 mm wide flanges.

1,5 - Spar caps made of a high carbon fiber by autoclave-vacuum molding method; 2 – Carbon tubing of ±45° layup improves the torsional stiffness of the spar; 3 - Shear web of Carboline SC_39_2/45; 4 – Core.

The new fuselage of Supra Expert satisfies a number of contradictory requirements:

  • The glider does not slide after landing but stops as soon as the nose touches the ground. The shape of the pod tip satisfies F3J requirements;

  • The fuselage has minimal aerodynamic drag, thanks to the wing raised on a pylon and streamlined pod outline with CFD optimized cross-sections;

  • The shape of the fuselage also ensures increased stiffness and strength, required for violent landings.

The fuselage of Supra Expert is optimized for the ease of the radio equipment installation and maintenance. The servos are installed on a removable tray, which permits easy access to the receiver and the battery.
